Job Purpose:
To hold legal responsibility for the registered children's home and manage all aspects of the effective management of the home, keeping compliance with Ofsted regulatory obligations
To ensure and uphold a person-centered approach is formed and applied across the service, putting the needs of the service users at the centre of the excellent service delivery.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Manage the day to day running of the home and oversee Ofsted Visits & Audits including Reg 44 monthly visits.
To oversee and contribute to the development, application and checking of the young person's care plan.
Provide, assess, and plan for the needs of the children through efficient care planning processes and ensure all staff are working towards the agreed care plans
Inspire and motivate the team to maintain high standards of service delivery.
Maintain a high quality and pleasant living environment which is helpful and beneficial to meeting the need of the service user
Oversee all reporting and recording within the home.
Health and safety champion on the placement.
Manage staff rotas and staff training by facilitating participation in training and development of the care team and assist staff to understand the importance of training to their roles and responsibilities.
To support new staff members with a thorough induction to the service
Manage the care team to work effectively and efficiently according to the job roles
To provide regular supervision for the care staff and maintain regular team meeting with all appropriate parties, ensuring records are kept.
Provide staff with full management and guidance in all aspect of their work to ensure that the staff are aware of the expectations.
Must have knowledge on how to do Pathways, Risk Assessment, Care Plan, Health & Safety Checks etc.
Manage multi agency working relationships and ensure effective communication with all concerned is maintained.
Liaise/ meet with professionals to ensure the service user needs are met.
Drive awareness amongst referrers in service lines and strategic imperatives.
Target and secure new referrer relationships for existing/new facilities.
Build multi-level relationships with external services.
Adhere to professional standards and legislation in relation to our Ofsted requirements.
Adhere to relevant legal and statutory requirements including the Data Protection Act (always ensuring appropriate level of confidentiality), Health and Safety at Work Act and any other relevant law/legislation.

Qualifications
Ideally the successful candidate will hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or an equivalent qualification) or be willing to start and complete the Level 5 qualification within a three-year time frame.
The successful candidate will have within the last 5 years worked for at least 2 years in a position relevant to residential care of children. Additionally, the candidate must have worked 1 year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role.

Experience:
Relevant experience of working at management level in Children's care home
The last 5 years worked for at least 2 years in a position relevant to residential care of children. Additionally, the candidate must have worked 1 year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role.
Relevant experience of managing successful Ofsted registered EBD children's homes
High knowledge of care standards including child protection and demonstrable experience of managing a similar service supporting children with EBD.
Ability to understand and develop plans in a person-centred manner.
Ability to work with service user and other parties in a professional way.
Ability to communicate clearly with the service users adjusting to their individual requirements.
Ability to deliver a high level of care and support for our service users.
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:
Understanding of statutory requirements related to social care.
