Finance / Payroll Assistant (PR/035103) Colchester, England
Salary: GBP25000 - GBP32000 per annum
We are currently recruiting a Payroll/Finance Assistant to join our Colchester office.
The role will be responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate accounting function with particular emphasis on providing Payroll services and maintaining the AP function.
The selected candidate will…
* Own the accounts payable function including managing payment of outstanding debts, contacting suppliers for information, and maintaining records of all communications.
* Resolve supplier queries in an efficient manner to minimize short/late payments.
* Be proactive in reducing aged balances and finding solutions to resolve non-payment issues.
* Support with monthly payroll of 270 staff and all activities that come with this.
* Be comfortable with Sage 50 accounts & Payroll.
* Liaise with staff and partners around the practice to resolve client queries.
* Provide support for other areas within the finance team, which may include analysing and processing of credit card payments for all offices, providing analysis of overhead expenditure to office managers and other budget holders, and setting up new staff members.
* Provide cover for posting receipts and bank reconciliations during holiday periods.
* Undertake other finance duties as may be allocated from time to time.
Essential skills, experience, and attributes…
* Familiar with Sage 50 accounts & payroll.
* Proficient in MS Office – Excel, Word & Outlook.
* Three years’ relevant work experience.
* Effective decision-making and problem-solving techniques within a finance environment.
