We are recruiting for an NPI Engineer (New Product Introduction) to join an established Manufacturing business based in the Dudley area. The NPI Engineer will create long-term relationships with customers, ensuring that expectations are met while also improving efficiency and effectiveness with strong skills in service delivery.
As an NPI Engineer, you will be required to:
1. Report activities to customers and stakeholders, providing weekly status updates.
2. Coordinate action plans.
3. Coordinate the sample process from start to finish.
4. Work closely with tooling engineers, external suppliers, technical resources, and contractors.
5. Monitor the quality of outgoing shipments.
6. Minimize internal and external scrap.
7. Review product documentation (workflow documentation, production data).
8. Identify and support the procurement of new tools required for new projects/production.
9. Ensure a smooth transition of any new products.
10. Review best practices and implement learnings.
11. Promote lean manufacturing/continuous improvement tools where needed.
12. Coordinate and maintain QC systems.
Requirements:
1. Experienced in the application of quality tools.
2. Able to project manage quality aspects to NPI and prototype manufacture.
3. Able to implement best practice solutions.
4. Able to optimize methods of manufacturing and layout of tooling/rigging.
5. Upgrade and maintain NPI to ensure that all manufacturing data is logged.
6. Able to liaise with subcontract tooling engineers/pattern shops.
7. Familiar with quality operations PPAP/APQP or equivalent.
