About the Role
We are looking for a talented and motivated Project Engineer (Software Developer) to join our innovative team at WMG. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing and maintaining the Safety Pool Scenario Database and contribute to cutting-edge verification and validation research projects in collaboration with industry, academic, and government partners. You will work closely with the Project Lead, Software Architect, and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of these projects.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work on impactful research that pushes the boundaries of technology in connected and automated systems. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing our database systems, troubleshooting system issues, and contributing to academic publications and technical reports. If you are passionate about software development and want to contribute to the future of automated systems, this role is for you.
About You
You will have a strong background in .NET web development, with significant experience in creating Single Page Applications (SPAs) using Microsoft Blazor, Razor, or ASP.NET Core MVC. You should possess excellent C# coding skills and be well-versed in Microsoft SQL Server, including data access techniques like Entity Framework Core and LINQ. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, GitHub, or Azure DevOps is essential.
You should be self-motivated, independent, and capable of delivering results in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are crucial for success in this role. Additionally, you will have the ability to build relationships with collaborative partners and contribute to various dissemination activities, including academic publications.
Experience with containerisation (Kubernetes, Docker), administering infrastructure on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, and proficiency in JavaScript (Node.js or TypeScript) would be advantageous.

The Safe Autonomy Research Group at WMG is undertaking a programme of research and engineering across the verification and validation spectrum. The physical world of mobility and infrastructure are merging with the digital world of simulation, AI, software, and data. With the emergence of evermore complex systems comes evermore complex challenges, chief among these challenges, that of assuring safety.
