Role Overview
We are currently looking for a Research Scientist to join a leading Pharmaceutical company based in the Berkshire area. As the Research Scientist you will be responsible for the development, optimisation and validation of ligand binding assays / immunoassays for biomarkers and gene therapy targets to support progression of novel drug candidates through various stages of discovery and development.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Your duties as the Research Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. As the Research Scientist you will run ligand binding assays / immunoassays such as ELISA, MSD, ELLA, Gyros, Singulex and/or Simoa/Quanterix.
2. As the Research Scientist you will ideally have demonstrable skills in the development and validation of some of these assays.
3. As the Research Scientist you will have worked in a bioanalytical / pharmaceutical drug discovery environment, and/or Biomarker assay development experience.
4. As the Research Scientist you will maintain lab equipment to high standards, and remain compliant with all health and safety, Human Tissue Act (HTA) and any other applicable regulations.
Role Requirements
To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Research Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant degree in a Pharmaceutical, biological or similar discipline
2. Proven industry experience in running ligand binding assays/immunoassays (e.g. ELISA, MSD, ELLA, Gyros, Singulex, Simoa/Quanterix).
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with development and validation of such assays would be an advantage.
