Job Description
As part of the Peacock Data Science team, the Lead Data Scientist will be responsible for creating recommendation and personalization solutions for one or more verticals of Peacock Video Streaming Service.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Work with a group of data scientists in developing recommendation and personalization models using statistical, machine learning, and data mining methodologies.
2. Drive the collection and manipulation of new data and the refinement of existing data sources.
3. Translate complex problems and solutions to all levels of the organization.
4. Collaborate with software and data architects to build real-time and automated batch implementations of data science solutions and integrate them into the streaming service architecture.
5. Drive innovation in the statistical and machine learning methodologies and tools used by the team.
Qualifications
1. Advanced (Master's or PhD) degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field.
2. Experience in advanced analytics in industry or research.
3. Experience with commercial recommender systems or leading research projects in this area.
4. Proficiency in deep learning, especially using TensorFlow, and experience with graph methodologies in machine learning.
5. Experience implementing scalable, distributed, and highly available systems using Google Cloud Platform, Google AI Platform/Vertex AI, Kubeflow, and Airflow.
6. Proficient in Python; Java or Scala is a plus.
7. Experience with data processing using SQL and PySpark.
8. Experience working with foundation models and GenAI technologies.
Desired Characteristics
1. Experience in media analytics and applications of data science in the content streaming and TV industry.
2. Good understanding of reinforcement learning algorithms.
3. Experience with large-scale datasets and leading cross-disciplinary projects in data science and engineering.
4. Knowledge of enterprise digital analytics platforms like Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics.
5. Experience managing large-scale video assets.
6. Team-oriented, collaborative, with a willingness to learn new methods and tools.
