That’s the way ahead About the role Working within our Finance team and reporting to the Finance Manager, the Purchase Ledger Clerk will ensure the smooth operation of all purchase ledger matters by inputting purchase invoices. Furthermore, the Purchase Ledger Clerk will be responsible for matching invoices to statements and purchase orders to invoices and facilitating payments. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment are essential for this position. This role would be ideal for someone with basic accounting knowledge and a strong interest in the field. Whether you've recently finished school or college, completed a university degree, or are looking to change direction, we welcome individuals who are eager to learn. Prior experience in the field is a plus, but not essential – if you're passionate about finance, we'd like to hear from you. Responsibilities: Process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently. Manage the purchase ledger, including matching, batching, and coding invoices. Prepare and complete bank reconciliations. Process and manage bank payments on time. Reconcile statements to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Oversee the management of company credit cards and staff expenses. Produce ad-hoc financial reports as required. Monitor and manage the account's inbox, ensuring timely responses and resolution of queries. Conduct SG&A expense analysis to support financial reporting. Skill and Experience: Basic accounting knowledge is desirable, with double-entry bookkeeping being a plus Experience with accountancy software is an advantage but not essential Strong Excel and IT skills, with the ability to work efficiently with data A proactive, hands-on self-starter with a keen interest in finance Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team Thrives in a fast-paced environment, embracing challenges with a positive and solution-focused mindset.
