Main Responsibilities:
* Lead two Peace Plus Investment areas: Shared Learning Together and Youth Mental Health & Wellbeing, representing the Department as the NI Accountable Department.
* Contribute to reviewing and advancing youth policy, including its implementation.
* Collaborate with stakeholders on strategic projects focused on improving youth outcomes, including International Youth work and oversight of North South Education & Training Standards (NSETS).
* Manage business cases and approvals for relevant projects.
* Monitor and report on expenditure and budgets, in partnership with the Education Authority.
* Draft guidance, papers, briefings, and responses to Assembly Questions related to the role’s responsibilities.
* Provide support on various tasks required to meet the Department’s business priorities, with shared line management duties across the Youth Work Policy Team.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* A degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in youth work, social science, social policy, or a related field and at least two years’ relevant experience at a middle-management level in youth services;
OR
* A youth work qualification and at least four years’ relevant experience at a middle-management level in youth services.
Key Skills:
* Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
* Proven ability to deliver results, often within tight time frames.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Financial and budgeting management experience.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
* NSETS-endorsed qualification.
* Experience managing projects and/or programs.
* Background in policy development.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders at a regional level.
