We are one of three Business Areas within the Trelleborg Group and have about 6,000 employees worldwide. The Senior Product Engineer plays a crucial role in the TSSB Product Management team. They develop technical solutions for application needs and manage the technical aspects of new product introduction. They also guide and develop junior team members, provide technical leadership for new product development, and identify market and customer needs. They define and implement the strategy for product development and technology roadmap. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Technical leadership and development of the product line. To design technically and commercially effective sealing solutions. To support to the Product Engineering Team. To provide technical training to Sales and Application Engineers. To provide technical assistance to Sales and Application Engineers from Bridgwater or on customer visits. To guide Sales Engineers towards sales opportunities through product and case history training. Compiling and project managing technical and commercial proposals. Make presentations for technical training and product promotion. Assisting Marketing Companies as required with promotional activities such as trade shows, customer visits and advertisement designs. The ideal candidate Candidates should have a degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering. Candidates will have demonstrated capability of technical problem solving and new product development. Experience in the sealing industry would be a clear advantage, but experience in the Oil and Gas, Food Processing, Automotive, Aerospace, Compressors, or Semiconductor industries would also be advantageous. Problem solving – to be able to understand essential customer requirements and find the best solution for both the customer and Trelleborg. PC skills – proficient in MS Office, CAD (TSSB uses NX), FEA (TSSB uses Abaqus) Communication skills – internally within Trelleborg and with customers Resourceful – able to manage around obstacles and setbacks Time management – to be able to deliver when required to the correct quality This position is based on-site at Bridgwater, with some flexible home working, overseas travel will be required.
