About the role:
LKAB are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to ensure LKAB is delivering high standards of operational efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement. This role will be instrumental in ensuring that the plant realizes its full potential in terms of safety and quality, increasing uptime and reducing breakdowns of machinery.
Responsibilities & Key work tasks:
* Carry out a full range of engineering and maintenance duties for the entire site, diagnosing and resolving faults.
* Use predictive maintenance methods to ensure maximum uptime of plant and equipment.
* Use of CMMS system to record maintenance and breakdown activities.
* Proactively maintain, develop, and implement site improvement processes or projects to enhance safety and performance.
* Schedule work, resources, and parts in line with the maintenance budget.
* Execute work to specific Health and Safety, Company, and Industry Standards and Regulations.
* Support local contractor management processes ensuring they follow Health and Safety Standards.
Candidate requirements:
* Time served apprentice.
* BTEC National/NVQ or equivalent.
* IOSH preferred.
* Experience in Lean Manufacturing Methods and Root Cause Analysis is advantageous.
* Experience of maintaining medium to heavy plant with skills in machining, welding, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
* IT Skills, particularly Microsoft Office suite.

* Professional and able to work autonomously.
* Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
Candidates with experience or relevant job titles such as Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician, and Service Engineer will also be considered for this role.
