Job summary Access, Booking and Choice team at the Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has a vacancy for a Capacity Planning Coordinator within the Diagnostic & Support Division. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day operational management of designated specialties and line management of Inpatient/Outpatient Facilitators and Booking Coordinators within their remit. The role will involve working closely with Senior Managers and Clinicians providing information to inform decision making thus contributing to the delivery of local and national access targets. The post holder will join an established and highly skilled team and will be responsible for ensuring that agreed processes and standards are implemented and adhered to for designated specialties. The post holder will ensure Inpatient or Outpatient services are balanced with the demands of urgent and emergency clinical workloads within an overall integrated approach to capacity and demand management. You will be expected to have detailed knowledge of capacity and demand management and national access targets. You will need to have experience of staff management and excellent communication skills as well as the desire to work in a patient focussed environment. You will also need to have first class organisational skills, with the ability to deal sensitively and confidently with people. A good level of attention to detail is essential to the role as is the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Main duties of the job Ensuring all aspects of the services are supported in terms of staffing andresources and that staff are redeployed effectively to meet the serviceneeds. Will haveworking knowledge of all current access targets always ensuring the best possible patient and trust outcome to services provided. Meet frequentlywith Business Support Manager/Clinical Managers to identify and flag any issues relating to capacity and demand. Proactively manage the Electronic Referral System (ERS) for their speciality. Review and update the Directory of Services in conjunction with the OBM; Deliver training to Clinicians within the speciality for ERS functions i.e. Reading on Line. Actively seeking new ways of working that will assist staff to provide aquality service at all times. Contributing to success against locally and nationally agreed targets, including waiting list management, validation and adherence to RTT timeframes To lead and manage their teams effectively in line with Trust policy and protocols. Manages, supports and develops a motivated team through the use of appraisal and performance monitoring and sickness absence management. Is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the access and booking targets in relation to the whole patient journey for the designated specialties. Will ensure afocus is maintained on customer care standards at all times and represents the service of Access, Booking and Choice in a professional manner.
