Responsibilities: Follow the tendering process for the full bid lifecycle and contribute to the definition and implementation of winning bid strategies. Manage the creation of quotations and winning bids, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and satisfy all formal customer requirements, internal approvals, and deadlines. Bids range from £5k to £10m. Take ownership of the preparation, review, and coordination of compelling bids, and identify any potential issues or risks to a successful bid submission. Liaise with internal and external parties, partners, and subcontractors to ensure smooth bid preparation. Organise and chair review meetings, and prepare all relevant materials. Produce and deliver presentations internally and to customers, up to board level. Lead the bid team and manage responsibilities across technical, commercial, and financial considerations. Collate costs and calculate pricing, capturing how our offer delivers innovation, social value, carbon reduction, and waste reduction. Edit and coordinate compelling tender documentation, ensuring timely submission to the customer. Write and edit responses to bid quality questions, including storyboarding to maximise quality scoring. Ensure high levels of consistency and quality in tender documentation, capturing lessons learned and mitigating company risks. Manage the internal sign-off and governance process, including reporting and forecasts. Support post-tender activities such as clarification question responses, negotiation of price, and handover to the project delivery team. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for bid processes, ensuring alignment with best practice and new procurement regulations. Travel occasionally within the UK and internationally. Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience in bid management, ideally in the infrastructure or transport sector. Strong understanding of the full bid lifecycle, from strategy to submission. Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage complex bids under tight deadlines. Experience liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and managing multi-disciplinary teams. Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality written documentation. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing requirements. A proactive and solutions-driven approach to identifying and resolving potential issues. Some UK and international travel may be required.
