Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, the Accountant will be responsible for:
* Taking responsibility for elements of budgets, in-year budget monitoring and reforecasting, and year-end close down.
* Overseeing the period end and staff budget monitoring processes and assisting in the delivery of budget setting.
* Performing analysis and interpreting data in line with accounting standards and suggesting solutions and recommendations to decision makers.
* Providing finance comments and advice on reports to the board, ensuring any recommendations are consistent with the organisation's financial plan.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Accountant will be a qualified Accountant (or about to finish their studies) who has excellent Excel skills and a background in business partnering with budget holders, where you have provided accounting or financial advice.
Ideally, you will have worked in the public sector; an understanding of local authority accounting rules would be beneficial but isn't essential. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills to present complex information to non-finance stakeholders.
