Main Tasks of Job - Roles and Responsibilities:
To oversee all aspects of physical loading/unloading of Goods vehicles ensuring accuracy on corresponding paperwork for goods and Trolleys
Main Tasks of Job
• Ensure all vehicles are physically loaded accurately and Goods secured safely in conjunction with the driver.
• Communicating with drivers delivering or collecting from the site.
• Supervision of staff working within the loading team
• Ensuring high standards are maintained across all aspects of the role.
• Cleanliness – keeping working environment clean and tidy daily.
• Recording of transactions made during the day.
• Making sure working areas are not littered with Trolleys
• Action Plan from Logistic Coordinator to make ready empty trollies for deliveries to Nurseries
Compliance
• Health and Safety –Make sure the area you work in is free from risk of injury to yourself and your staff.
• Train workers in safe use of the machines and complete authorized users forms.
• Ensure all required staff are wearing safety shoes in the appropriate areas.
• Select staff to use tugs, train users, complete authorized users sheets and put them on charge when required.
• Carrying out daily maintenance checks and reporting defects.
Administration
• To ensure all delivery notes are recorded on appropriate systems.
• To communicate any paperwork discrepancies to Logistics Coordinator
• Ensure all staff hours are recorded on timesheet.
Relationships
• Responsible to the Logistics Coordinator
• Liaisons with Despatch Supervisor and Operations team.
• Site Supervisors from satellite sites.
Requirements for this role are:
• Previous experience on a similar role is welcome but not mandatory as full training is provided on site
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Excellent understanding of safety regulations and best practices
• IT proficiency (particularly MS Office)
This role offers a permanent opportunity with an immediate start.
Pay rate £13.50 per hour, OT paid after 48 hours per week.
Schedule: 6 days per week during peak time; working hours might vary depending on the order volume; average 48 hours per week.
If necessary, we can provide accommodation in caravans for 4-6 people per caravan at the cost of £69.93/week with all the facilities included, not far from the place of work.
