The Opportunity
Abbott Healthcare Connections is part of Abbott's Toxicology Business Unit that delivers innovative Occupational Health by helping customers/clients comply with health legislation and industry standards, manage the ongoing health of their employees, and engage their workforce to improve their health and wellbeing.
We are recruiting for an Occupational Health Advisor (OHA) who will be based in Glasgow Prestwick Airport. In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of a full range of Occupational Health (OH) duties including Case Management, Medicals, Health Surveillance, and Wellbeing and Health Promotion Services.

What You’ll Do
* Support the growth of a dynamic occupational health business ensuring exceptional clinical performance while mentoring other health professionals.
* Work with customers at their sites to provide support, advice, and guidance on sickness absence, workplace environment, risk assessment, stress management, and return to work following absence.
* Conduct health surveillance/assessments including fitness to work in safety-critical posts.
* Accurately complete administrative tasks to maintain Occupational Health records and reports.
* Provide advice to managers and HR regarding staff who are incapable of undertaking their normal duties while adhering to customer policy.
* Assist managers and supervisors with risk assessments related to health matters affecting their staff.
* Maintain knowledge of up-to-date legislation and best practices relating to Occupational Health issues.
* Ensure mandatory training deadlines are met, including OH-specific or company-wide compliance training.
* Wear AHCC uniform at all times.
* Collaborate with head office to increase service utilization in the designated area, including covering evening clinics as customer demand dictates.
* Participate in network learning opportunities and undertake updates on clinical improvements.
Required Qualifications
* Degree, Diploma, or preferably a Certificate in Occupational Health (and be on Part 3 of NMC Register) or working towards this with evidence of continual professional development and/or relevant work experience.
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* A qualification in Hand Arm Vibration and experience collecting samples for drug and alcohol testing using chain of custody protocols is desirable.
* The ability to produce clear and concise reports for managers.
* The ability to carry out medicals/surveillance including audiometry, spirometry, skin assessment, HAVS, and safety-critical medicals.
* Conduct case management assessments.
* Work closely and effectively with HR, health and safety professionals, and our occupational health partners to provide an efficient and cost-effective service.
* Identify key health issues and assist in developing and providing procedures and solutions.
* Prioritize workload and use experience and initiative to refer complex cases to the clinical governance team.
* Travel between sites as required.
* Be competent in the use of computers including Microsoft Office and Excel software.
