The post holder will be a nurse with cardiology experience who holds or is working towards clinical assessment skills and non-medical prescribing qualifications. Developing knowledge and skills of managing Cardiac Rehabilitation case load. They will work within a nurse- led team, contributing towards the provision of high-quality care to cardiology patients. The main responsibilities of the role will relate to clinical expertise with an emphasis on initiating, performing and maintaining standards of clinical excellence. The post holder will be able to work within the multidisciplinary team. This will include the assessment, diagnosis, interpretation of results, management and review of cardiac patients, under the supervision of a cardiologist and lead/ cardiac rehabilitation specialist nurse Most clinics are nurse- led and include the management of secondary prevention patients, Angina management, the post holder may also develop their skills to work within the nurse- led, Secondary Prevention Optimisation Clinics (PCI review clinics), Angina Management, assessing for commencement to cardiac rehabilitation exercise component, Health Education and Behavioural change, audit and research.
