Job description
As a Team Leader you will have responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of staff delivering care and support to our young people within a supported living service.
You’ll support the staff team to deliver the best care and support possible, ensuring that our young people fulfil their potential in Education, Employment, Independence, Choice, Inclusion, and Control of their own lives from 16+.
Title: Team Leader 16+ Wisbech
Role: To provide assistance to Management, ensuring a need’s led service to young people 16+, adopting a person-centred approach that fosters self-awareness, personal growth and gives the young people the strongest voice with regards to decision making, employment, education and lifestyle choices. Empowering the young people we support at Genell to learn the independent skills required to move forward in life and thrive.
Working Hours: Permanent contract - full time.
Salary: £12.50 per hour + sleep in allowance of £40 per night.
Qualifications: Preferred Minimum Diploma Level 3 in Children's Residential Care or equivalent related studies. Diploma will be provided otherwise.
Safeguarding: All applicants must:
* Undergo an enhanced DBS check.
* Provide at least two satisfactory references, one of which must be from their most recent employer.
* Provide a commitment to adhere to all Genell Support Policies and Procedures in order to safeguard the young people they are supporting.
Duties:
* Provide leadership to the team always acting as a positive role model.
* Manage rotas daily/each shift ensuring that 2 weeks ahead is covered, any sickness is documented and sent over to HR, Agency to be authorised through management.
* Lead the shift, ensuring staff give support that follows individual young people care plans and Weekly planners.
* Provide effective supervision to Support Workers on your team.
* Provide on call cover as arranged by the Home Manager, working within on call guidance.
* Ensure good team working. Motivate, support and mentor the staff when needed.
* On each shift ensure staff complete all necessary paperwork to an acceptable standard and sign off.
* Daily tasks/Paperwork to be checked weekly, weekly jobs to be checked and signed off.
* Support young people with regards to decision making and lifestyle choices enabling them to take control of their own lives, increasing independence.
* Ensure all Home tasks are carried out taking into consideration the needs, wishes and preferences of the young people, following Managements directions.
* Support our young people to take an active role in the community by accessing local facilities and wider community resources in the spirit of social inclusion.
* Support the young people to access education, activities, and support with any financial issues they may come across.
* Monthly supervisions to be completed with staff team.
* Adhere to all statutory and legislative requirements relative to the role requirements.
* Ensure staff teams inductions, Online training/Mandatory training is completed within the required time scales.
* Participate in Staff team meetings and liaise with management any issues/Positives that need discussing Monthly.
* Promote Genell supports mission statement, goals, and values.
* Communicating goals and deadlines to team members. Planning workloads and delegating tasks creating a productive work environment.
* To carry out any reasonable requests by your line manager as deemed necessary to fulfil your role of employment.
