We are excited to be able to advertise for a Physiotherapist within our Acute Stroke Therapy Services.
The Acute Stroke Therapy Service offers specialist stroke rehabilitation on the hyper-acute and acute stroke unit as well as an enhanced early supported discharge serviceto provide well supported more timely discharges from the acute hospital setting, delivering care closer to home and addresses the physical, psychological and social wellbeing needs of the population.

Main duties of the job
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and forward thinking Physiotherapist who is interested in developing their specialised rehabilitation skills both within the acute setting and within the outreach service providing Early Supported Discharge. You will be an integral part of our innovative and friendly team working with patient's following specialised care; the integrated therapy team covers a 7 day working week from 07.30 until 20.00. You will require excellent interpersonal skills to enable you to work closely with a range of staff from various professional backgrounds. You will provide early rehabilitation for specialised patients, setting goals & treatment plans to be followed by the interdisciplinary team. You will also be promoting a seamless transition from the acute hospital to the home environment whilst continuing to work towards patient's rehabilitation goals in their own home or normal place of residence. The ability to develop & sustain good working relationships with colleagues & peers is essential. You must demonstrate an empathetic approach & be responsive to patients needs & be flexible in your approach to work & adaptable in carrying out your tasks, managing your own workload & working unsupervised. Training and competencies will be addressed through our experienced and supportive therapy team.

Qualifications

* oRegistered with HPC
* oEvidence of CPD
Skills
* o Ability to carry own caseload specific to area

* o Ability to reflect on own skills and areas for development
* oEvidenced based knowledge and understanding of Therapy standards and treatment approaches
Experience
* o Experience working within the national healthcare system as a student or qualified therapist
* oAbility to communicate effectively and build effective working relationships
* oDemonstrate effective clinical skills
* oExperience of working within Neurosciences
