Team Teach Trained SEMH Teaching Assistant - Specialist School
Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex
About the Role:
Academics are seeking passionate Team Teach Trained SEMH Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school in Southend-on-Sea. This is an opportunity to make a difference in a supportive and nurturing environment, with potential for long-term and permanent job opportunities. The job is starting ASAP and for the right individual, it will extend to the next academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Building secure relationships with children & young people
2. Understanding the specific needs of the children, especially those with trauma
3. Support pupils with social and emotional needs
4. Working 1:1 with the pupil
About You:
1. Must have an Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one
2. Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
3. Previous experience working with children or adults in a caring capacity
4. Desirable experience: Care work, working in a PRU, SEMH experience
