A great opportunity to join a £200 million heavy Civil Engineering project in North Wales. My client, the principal contractor delivering a major project in Snowdonia, is recruiting for a Quality Assurance Manager to join them on a technically complex scheme which will see the removal of existing pylons and the construction of 2 tunnels to carry electricity cabling.
As the project is situated in the Snowdonia National Park, our client offers accommodation/travel subsistence to employees.
As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will:
1. Develop and maintain a team to carry out appropriate quality management activities.
2. Carry out quality planning activities including developing a Quality Plan and perform an assessment of Quality Risks.
3. Develop project specific management system plans and procedures where required.
4. Mentor Quality Engineers and other reporting staff and assist in their development.
5. Be responsible for all project assurance matters including the certification of each element of the works.
6. Prepare and maintain a project audit and surveillance plan.
7. Carry out audits and surveillances as required by the project audit and surveillance plan.
8. Manage the inspection and test plan (ITP) submittal and approval process including tracking the progress to completion of each ITP.
9. Manage the production of “Red-line” drawings from the site team and, if necessary, manage the process to turn them into “As built” status.
10. Assist in the production of Operation and Maintenance Manuals and Health and Safety File for handover to the client.
11. Manage the Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) process and track each Non-Conformity (Whether Defect, NCR, Snag or Outstanding works to ensure that they are satisfactorily completed by the site team(s).
12. Maintain a Log of all non-conformities and ensure that these are progressed to closure in a timely basis.
Our client requires a Quality Assurance Manager with:
1. Comprehensive understanding of project administration procedures.
2. Comprehensive understanding of document control processes and procedures including knowledge of ISO19650 (National Annex A) - document numbering.
3. Computer skills, particularly Excel and Word.
4. Familiarity with using EDMS systems (Themis/Projectwise/4Projects/A-Site etc).
5. Understanding of the purpose and importance of accurate document control in a commercial and assurance context.
Salary and benefits include:
1. £65,000 to £75,000.
2. £6,750 car allowance or company vehicle.
3. Up to £14,000 accommodation subsistence (taxable) depending on your location.
4. Travel subsistence depending on your location.
5. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
6. Company pension (matched contribution up to 8%).
7. Health Cash Plan.
