An opportunity has arisen within our team for a 0.4 WTE 8B principle clinical, forensic, or counselling psychologist. The post is ideal for those looking to work part time or to supplement another part time post. As an 8B, you will have significant post-qualification experience, established clinical leadership skills & enjoy working in this specialty. We are a small friendly team of practitioner psychologists dedicated to working with individuals with learning disabilities and their families and carers. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join us. You will also work alongside other professional groups including community nurses, psychiatry, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy as well as multi-agency colleagues. We work in a variety of clinic and community-based settings with multiple bases across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. There is the opportunity for flexible and hybrid/home working. Modes of working include one-to-one therapy, group work, systemic approaches with families and carers, consultation and supervision with allied health professionals and collaboration with multi-agency colleagues as well as advocating for the rights and needs of our service users. To work with others including: multi-disciplinary and multi-agency colleagues; and provision of specialist advice and consultancy as required. To be responsible for the systematic provision of the clinical psychology service to the community learning disability team, including co-ordination of locality team psychology, proposing service developments and policy changes. To be pathway co-lead for and psychological lead on a clinical pathway (e.g. dementia, trauma, autism, epilepsy, forensic, mental health, PBS, complex physical, eating& drinking), to support the clinical network initiatives across the community. To provide a lead specialist role in psychologically based assessments and interventions within a Learning Disabilities community team and offer specialist advice and consultation to colleagues in the team contributing directly to diagnosis and interventions using the community clinical pathways. To supervise work of newly qualified clinical psychologists, doctoral clinical psychology trainees and graduate assistant psychologists.
