Key Responsibilities:
* Develop innovative algorithms and machine learning models that add value to our data.
* Process and analyse large-scale mobility datasets describing the movement of populations.
* Be self-led in your research of ML models and algorithms to solve interesting and non-standard problems.
* Design impactful data visualizations and insights to communicate your work with stakeholders, both expert and non-technical, across the business.
* Pioneer the use of emerging data science and machine learning techniques and technologies to ensure best practice within the business.
What We Are Looking For:
Required:
* A creative and inquiring mind with considerable problem-solving ability.
* An excellent grasp of advanced mathematical concepts related to DS (e.g. Linear Algebra, Statistics).
* Experience building ML that has been tested in a real-world setting (production/research).
* The ability to work effectively in a team, take and give advice where necessary.
* An advanced degree in a subject with significant statistical or mathematical content or demonstrable technical strength through experience.
* Demonstrable experience in scientific computing (Python preferred).
Highly Desirable:
* Experience of manipulating exceptionally large datasets, preferably using SQL or Spark.
* An excellent grasp of DS concepts with emphasis on modern ML techniques (DL, RL, GNN, Computer Vision).
* Experience accessing and processing structured and unstructured data in AWS.
* Exceptionally good written and verbal presentation skills.
* Understanding of how to create effective visualisations from data.
Desirable:
* Experience with traffic or mobility data.
