About the Role
Are you interested in a placement with one of the UK’s largest energy producers? Our Operations and Maintenance group has an exciting industrial placement opportunity, and is looking for a motivated team member with excellent interpersonal skills!
RWE’s Operation and Maintenance group supports our portfolio of gas fired power stations across Europe. Our Chemistry and Environmental Engineering placement role will allow you to work within this group, focusing on Pembroke Power Station, one of the largest and most efficient combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power stations in Europe. Your Opportunity
During your placement, you will:
1. Be responsible for monitoring the water/steam cycle and take investigative action where necessary.
2. Develop an in-depth understanding of environmental permits and undertake the monitoring required to maintain environmentally sustainable energy production.
3. Engage in personal projects which will drive continual improvement.
4. Participate in courses, workshops, and on-the-job training to support your growth.
You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other departments, including participating in shift work with our operations team, to tackle the daily challenges in running a power station.
Job Requirements and Experience
Ideally, you are pursuing a degree in Chemical and/or Environmental Engineering and have an interest in the energy sector.
