Job Description
• Promote and ensure a safe work environment and practices.
• Implement policies for order review and capacity planning to meet lead time and delivery targets.
• Achieve site objectives for Operational Excellence and Quality Control.
• Ensure timely, cost-efficient, and high-quality production activities.
• Provide the shop floor with necessary manpower, skills, knowledge, machinery, and tools to meet production targets.
• Foster right-first-time behaviours.
• Continuously improve production processes using Lean tools and techniques.
• Support process optimisation projects focused on output, productivity, quality, and methods.
• Maintain processes and procedures within the Quality Management System according to relevant standards (ISO 9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001).
• Organise, plan, and coordinate all production inventory management activities.
• Ensure efficient and effective operation of manufacturing and inventory systems/processes.
• Support the site’s employee engagement and communication program.
• Conduct recruitment and employment in compliance with company procedures and current employment laws.
• Set goals and objectives for yourself and your team to enhance job performance.
• Develop and monitor performance standards; conduct annual appraisals.
• Identify training needs; implement, monitor, and review training and development plans.
• Address staff discipline or grievance issues, maintaining proper records as per company procedures.
• Source appropriate training and promote upskilling within the department.
• Implement, monitor, and manage KPIs for the department in line with company goals and strategy.
• Apply Kaizen/Lean tools to reduce inventory, increase throughput, and minimize costs.
• Manage change to align with current business requirements.
• Integrate ERP system and Material Master adherence into daily processes.
• Develop a high-performance workforce by upholding company standards.
The Successful Applicant
• Bachelor’s Degree level qualification in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operation Research, • APICS CPIM or equivalent would be a plus
• Lean Philosophy conversant (Green belt minimum preferred)
• Strong mentorship/ training/ succession planning capabilities
• Experience of volume Assembly (preferred)
• Experience with MRP / ERP Systems (SAP Preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and BI software (Excel, Power BI, Qlik preferably)
• Leadership skill: communicate the vision in a way that generates excitement, enthusiasm, and commitment
• Build productive relationships with colleagues both internally and externally.
• Strategic planning and execution; good understanding of continuous improvement.
