Job Description
Enjet Aero machines and fabricates complex jet engine parts, components, and assemblies for leading OEMs in the commercial, defense, and general aviation sectors. Position Description: The Gage Technician is fully responsible for the Enjet Metrology Department. They will be responsible for the calibration and recordkeeping of all Inspection, Measuring and Test Equipment (I.M.&T.E.) used for product acceptance. They must adhere to all applicable regulatory and customer-specific requirements. Position reports to the Quality Manager. This is a part-time, 20-hour per week day shift position.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Generate I.M.&T.E. recall list at prescribed intervals; physically locate and retrieve I.M.&T.E.
2. Perform calibration in accordance with Industry Standard Practice as documented in the Enjet, customer, or equipment manufacturer’s procedures.
3. Arrange for the calibration of I.M.&T.E. at approved suppliers when the capability does not exist at Enjet.
4. Review and approve all supplier-furnished calibration certificates prior to the issuance of I.M.&T.E.
5. Identify all I.M.&T.E. with a calibration label.
6. Accurate and timely completion of assigned work and documentation on company records.
7. Generate and update calibration procedures.
8. Perform routine measuring equipment repair.
9. Participate in customer and third-party audits.
10. Adhere to Enjet Company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
11. Establish own work schedule in order to maintain I.M.&T.E. within calibration cycles.
12. Maintain a clean and orderly work area on a daily basis.
13. Recommend to Supervision shortened or lengthened calibration intervals based on historical data.
14. Bring to the attention of Supervision any I.M.&T.E. determined to be significantly out of tolerance.
15. Oversight and coordination of Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) and Gage R & R studies per AS13003.
Qualifications:
1. Experienced and skilled in calibration/inspection methods and calibration program/software.
2. Mechanically inclined with knowledge of most typical measuring equipment used in manufacturing.
3. Organized and detail-oriented.
4. General computer knowledge.
5. Ability to interface with other internal departments and individuals as well as external calibration suppliers.
6. Ability to work independently without supervision, particularly to address equipment failures or malfunctions.
