We're seeking a proactive and reliable Senior General Assistant to join a prestigious education provider in the heart of Oxford. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a unique and inspiring environment, supporting the delivery of high-quality catering services.
About the Role:
As a Senior General Assistant in Oxford, you will play a vital role in the smooth running of our client's catering operations. You'll be working 5 out of 7 days, with weekends off on a rotating basis, and will be responsible for a variety of tasks across both early and late shifts. You will also assist in supervising a small team.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the service of food to students and staff.
Assisting with food preparation, ensuring high standards of presentation and quality.
Performing general kitchen duties, including cleaning, washing up, and maintaining a tidy work environment.
Ensuring adherence to food hygiene and safety regulations.
Managing stock and supplies as required.
Assisting in the supervision and training of junior staff.
Providing excellent customer service to all students, staff, and visitors.
Working a variety of early and late shifts, including some weekend work on a rotational basis.What We're Looking For:
Proven experience in a catering environment.
Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure.
A proactive and positive attitude.
Ability to work flexible hours, including early and late shifts and some weekends.
Experience in supervising or leading a small team is desirable.Essential Requirements:
A Food Hygiene and Allergen Certificate (we can support you in obtaining this).
A successful Enhanced DBS check (if you are on the DBS update service this is a bonus).What's On Offer:
Salary £27,500 - £28,000
