Ideal as a secondment opportunity,applications are invited for band 7, full time, Service Lead until the endMarch 2025.
We arelooking for a dynamic and innovative clinician to provide clinical andstrategic team leadership and management to the WHC Wheelchairs Service. Youwill be supported by the Head of Services (HOS) to develop your leadership andmanagement skills whilst overseeing the performance of the service.
The successful candidate will be responsiblefor the day to day management of the service, creating a culture of team-workand innovation, and implementing changes to improve efficiency andeffectiveness.
Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate would be an experiencedAHP or Nurse with clinical expertise in supporting patients with long termconditions in the community; specific wheelchairs experience is not essential.Applications are also welcomed from staff with senior level strategic and peoplemanagement NHS experience who may be looking for a job share. Experience ofchange or project management is essential.
The Wheelchairs Service provides assessment,provision, delivery, and repairs of wheelchairs across Wiltshire. A clinicalteam of 6 staff is supported by a technical delivery and repairs team (6 staff)and excellent administration support. This role would oversee the management ofteam performance across the service.
The post is based at MelkshamCommunity Hospital and a visible presence is anticipated. Some home-hybridworking would be possible in discussion with the HOS.
Due tothe nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travelindependently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle forbusiness purposes.

1. Access to a vehicle that can be used for business purposes and a full and valid driving licence.

2. Registered Allied Health Professional (AHP) or Nurse with active Registration.
3. BSc or equivalent in relevant Clinical Professional area.
4. Evidence of post-graduate CPD.

10. Significant post-graduate experience in community healthcare and long term conditions
11. Experience of leading and managing clinical teams including HR and professional management.
12. Experience of recruitment and induction of new staff.
13. Evidence of change management and service development.
14. Experience in managing and undertaking investigations into complaints and incidents
15. Experience in delivering clinical governance, risk and safety management.
16. Good working knowledge of neurological or long term conditions
17. Knowledge of relevant issues in relation to current health policies & legislation.
18. Recent experience of working at a band 6 level or above.
19. Evidence of professional development and experience in neurology, community rehab or long term conditions.
