Environmental Regulation Manager
Salary Details: (up to £59,780 including market supplement)
We are looking to appoint a professionally qualified, experienced and highly motivated EHP to manage our Environmental Regulation section. This is a large team split into three units each led by a Principal Environmental Health Officer.
The section is responsible for discharging statutory functions and commitments in relation to legislation concerning domestic and commercial nuisance, air quality management, prescribed industrial processes, contaminated land, pest control and the animal warden service so as to achieve a safe, healthy and disease-free environment within the City of Hull.
Membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health would be desirable.

Graduate / Environmental Health Officer
Salary Details: £31,586 to £41,511 per annum (starting grade subject to experience)
The work will be varied and will involve the investigation of complaints relating to various statutory nuisances including noise nuisance, odour, dust, smoke and light as well as working with specialist officers dealing with air quality, permitted activities and contaminated land and providing expert comment in relation to environmental health matters on planning and licensing applications.
The starting salary point for the successful candidate will depend on their experience within environmental health but as a minimum the successful candidate must hold a CIEH accredited degree (MSc. or BSc. (Hons) Degree or Diploma) in Environmental Health within 6 months from the time of appointment (see attached Job Description for more information).
Environmental Protection Officer
Salary Details: £35,235 to £37,938 per annum
You will be required to work within a professional team of officers involved in discharging the council’s statutory and non-statutory duties and commitments in relation to the investigation of complaints about noise, vibration, smoke, odour and other statutory nuisances from industrial, commercial and domestic premises. As part of the work you will use a range of methods including officer visits and assessment of recordings on specialist instruments such as noise recording equipment, sound level meters and light meters to evaluate the results and make decisions to take either informal remedial or formal enforcement action.
The successful candidate will also be required to participate in the Department’s 24-hour out of hour’s standby scheme on a rota basis (currently once every 8 weeks) for which additional payment is made.
