As Deputy Manager, you will support the outstanding operations of a setting with a Good Ofsted rating. Set in a beautiful building, with a fantastic outdoor space for lots of exciting opportunities. You would be responsible for supporting the Nursery Manager in leading with excellence in our activities, experiences, and education. You will support an enhanced programme of exciting extracurricular activities and experiences for the children, their families, and the community. Offering stay and play, intergenerational care, woodwork, forest school, mini master chefs, music, dance, language programmes, and many active sports sessions.
You and the Nursery Manager will have the autonomy to be creative with your own budget but will need to have some experience in managing these or an eagerness to learn with lots of support from our experienced team.
We prioritise building fantastic relationships with our families, keeping them fully informed of their children’s progress through our nursery management system, Famly.co. Therefore, you will need a good understanding of all Microsoft programmes.

The right candidate will be organised, trustworthy, committed, and eager to support the Nursery Manager in driving the nursery forward. Ideally, you will have a foundation of knowledge on legislation, ranging from Ofsted SEND, safeguarding, health and safety practices, and food hygiene standards to keep our 5-star rating.
You will support us in meeting all Early Years Foundation Stage welfare requirements, alongside fantastic learning and development opportunities for all children, regardless of their starting abilities.
You will demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills and be on board with reflective practice, supporting professional development for both you and the team. You will participate in and support staff training, meetings, workshops, and open days.
Compliance with all nursery policies and procedures is essential, particularly regarding safeguarding, equality of opportunities, health and safety, and confidentiality. Responsibilities will include supporting the Manager in the marketing and promotion of the nursery, events, building occupancy, and enhancing our brand and reputation. This includes nursery awards and building community partnerships in various ways.

Responsibilities Include:
1. Support all aspects of nursery operations, including the best level of care and education for the children and customer service.
2. Support in developing and implementing strategies to maximize occupancy and revenue, monitoring budgets.
3. Support in developing best practices, supervising and training the team, providing guidance and support as needed.
4. Maintain accurate records.
5. Support in monitoring and maintaining the nursery's estates and aesthetics.
6. Support the marketing and promotion of the nursery to attract new customers.
7. Support the business in building its brand, reputation, and developing services that involve community cohesion and care for the environment.
8. Attend monthly meetings.
9. Have a creative flair in supporting exciting opportunities for the children to experience.
Experience:
1. Previous experience in early years leadership (Minimum 1 year).
2. Knowledge of Early Years Legislation and Ofsted.
3. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
4. Proficient in using computer software.
Qualifications:
1. Essential level 3 in Childcare & Development Qualification as listed on the qualifications checklist, which can be accessed via the Early Years qualifications achieved in the United Kingdom - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).
2. English GCSE or equivalent and a desire to obtain maths if you don’t already have this.
3. Driver desirable.
