Position: Cover Manager
Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week (7.30 am – 3.30pm)
39 weeks per year
Salary: HC6 – SCP 11-19 (£23,460 - £26,727)Closing Date: Monday, 27th January 2025Interview: Week commencing 3rd February 2025Start Date: As soon as possibleWe require a Cover Manager to join Earl Mortimer College. You will be joining our team of creative, supportive and dynamic staff, supervising and supporting students in KS3 and KS4 whilst they carry out pre-planned activities in a range of subjects.

Main Purpose of the job:
• To organise and arrange daily cover for absent staff using the Bromcom system
• To organise recruitment of external agency staff when required
• To lead and manage all cover supervisors and agency staff
• To cover the absence of teachers by supervising and supporting classes of pupils whilst they carry out pre-planned activities covering all subjects and year groups
• To keep records of external agency staff, signing off weekly timesheets where applicable
Skills you will need:
• To be passionate about teaching and learning and have a positive outlook and excellent interpersonal skills
• To be able to demonstrate outstanding classroom practice with high expectations for achievements and behaviour following the School Behaviour Policy
• To be able to communicate effectively with students and other members of staff
• Have good numeracy, literacy and ICT skills
• To be willing to contribute to the values, ethos and the development of our school
