The Role As a Health, Safety & Environment Advisor, you will provide expert guidance on health, safety, and environmental risk management. You'll be at the forefront of shaping and maintaining our safety policies, ensuring compliance with legislation, and promoting a proactive safety culture across the Service. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and develop the Service's H&S policies to ensure compliance with legislation. Conduct risk assessments taking a collaborative approach by utilising internal and external support. Conduct audits, inspections and proactive monitoring to measure organisational compliance. Provide evidence-based advice and support on health, safety and environmental risk management. Contribute to training needs analysis and deliver both practical training and e-learning packages. Investigate events, prepare reports and ensure implementation of risk control measures. Liaise with claims handlers in connection with investigations. Attend the Health, Safety and Welfare Committee. Identify opportunities for a reduction in the use of energy, water and other materials for to contribute to the improvement of the environment. Why NFRS? Experience/Qualification Experience in conducting risk assessments, drafting policy and providing health, safety and environmental advice. Have effective communication, collaboration, analytical and problem solving skills. Hold a NEBOSH diploma or NVQ Level 5 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or be actively working towards one of these qualifications or hold a professional environmental qualification (e.g. IEMA Certificate in Environmental Risk Management or NEBOSH Environmental). Be able to demonstrate ethical and values driven behaviour. Possess a valid drivers licence (reasonable adjustments will be made for candidates protected by the Equality Act).
