Experienced SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Maidstone Full-Time, Long-Term Contract Until July 2025 Required to Start Immediately Supply Desk are seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support a child in KS1 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on a 1:1 basis. This long-term opportunity is at a large, well-regarded primary school in Maidstone. The position is available immediately and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential to extend further. We are looking for a patient, reliable, and consistent individual who is understanding of each child’s unique circumstances and needs. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the educational journey of children with special educational needs. The ideal candidate should: Have experience supporting children with SEND, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), on a 1:1 basis. Be patient, proactive, and flexible in their approach to supporting children’s individual needs. Be reliable and consistent in maintaining routines and building trust. Have training or experience with Makaton, PECS, or be Team Teach trained (preferred but not essential). Be a strong communicator who can effectively work as part of a team. Hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
