As an Installation Specialist based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you'll have the opportunity to deliver our unique John Lewis service directly to customers' homes, installing products such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets as part of a two-person delivery team. * Salary: Starting rates for a Customer Delivery Hub include £28,646 (Driver Trainee), £32,149 (Installer), and £34,353 (Technician) per annum.
Note: All applicants must be over 18 due to the nature of the roles.
Driver Trainee Responsibilities:
* Complete the 12-month Customer Delivery Driver Trainee programme to qualify as a John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer.
* Provide excellent customer service, representing the John Lewis brand.
* Assist with loading deliveries and collaborate with the warehouse team.
* Respect customers' homes and handle situations to find the best solutions.
* Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use.
* Stay updated on new products and technologies.
* Maintain a safe working environment.
This role involves heavy lifting, including large items such as sofas, white goods, and beds.
Essential Skills/Experience for Driver Trainee:
* UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
* Excellent verbal communication skills.
* Interest in technology and installation.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
* Previous experience in installation and customer delivery driving.
Driver Installer Responsibilities:
Starting at the delivery hub, responsibilities include:
* Represent the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
* Load your vehicle with deliveries alongside the warehouse team.
* Respect customers' homes and handle unexpected situations.
* Install products efficiently and demonstrate their operation.
* Keep up to date with new products and technologies.
* Ensure a safe working environment.
This role also involves heavy lifting of large items.
Essential Skills/Experience for Driver Installer:
* Manual C1 UK driving licence with up to 6 points.
* DCPC and Tachograph Card.
* Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
* Experience in a customer-facing role.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Good understanding of technology.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
* Experience in home delivery and installation of electrical and furniture products.
* Experience with electrical installations and wall-mount TVs.
* Ability to replace domestic light fittings and appliances.
* Assembly of flat pack furniture.
Driver Technician Responsibilities:
Starting at the delivery hub, responsibilities include:
* Represent the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
* Coach and develop delivery colleagues.
* Load your vehicle with deliveries with the warehouse team.
* Respect customers' homes and handle situations effectively.
* Install a variety of products, including wall-mounted TVs and integrated appliances.
* Stay updated on new products and technologies.
* Maintain a safe working environment.
This role involves heavy lifting of large items.
Essential Skills/Experience for Driver Technician:
* Manual C1 UK driving licence with up to 6 points.
* DCPC and Tachograph Card.
