Job overview
The Neuroscience Team here at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), are seeking dynamic, enthusiastic band 5 Registered Nurses to join their Team.
You will be working alongside a dedicated multi-disciplinary team providing acute care to hyperacute stroke, acute stroke and neurology patients, this is a rotational post within the Neuroscience Unit, working across 2 areas (Heydon & Ingham Wards).
Main duties of the job
* Work with all members of the Ward/Department clinical team within the multi-disciplinary framework. Maintain a high standard of patient care under the direction of the Ward/Department Sister/Charge Nurse.
* Act as a leader in the clinical area, in the absence of a more senior member of staff. To work in accordance with the principles set out by the Nursing/Midwifery professional bodies and Trust Policies.
* Support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, acting as a role model to others and consistently demonstrating NNUH’s ‘PRIDE’ values.
* This post will be subject to rotation across ward areas that will enable development of skills and knowledge.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Ensure practice is in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and work within limits of competence.
* Successfully complete the Trust’s preceptorship programme.
* Maintain a high standard of nursing care applying evidence-based practice.
* Carry out assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care without supervision.
* Carry out the daily personal care of patients.
* Maintain accurate records of all care given.
* Update patient administration systems e.g. PAS to ensure real-time data collection and confidentiality.
* Effectively use information technology for the benefit of patient care in accordance with the Trust’s Cyber Code of Conduct.

Travelling to work
