The MEGA Network Team are currently recruiting for a highly proactive, self-motivated Managing Director to join our busy MEGA team. This is a unique role that will make a real difference to the local economy and community. The Managing Director will provide strategic leadership and direction for a Mega network initiative focused on growth, innovation, and collaboration within the manufacturing community. The role involves developing long-term strategies, securing funding, and cultivating partnerships to ensure the sustainability and impact of the network. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving strategic growth while working collaboratively with the Project Director to ensure operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Define and execute the Mega networks strategic vision, ensuring alignment with the needs of the local manufacturing sector and broader economic development goals. Serve as the public face of the cluster, representing its mission and priorities to government, industry, and other stakeholders. Funding Sourcing Secure diverse funding streams within the first 6 months, targeting resources from Local Economic Partnerships, Peace Plus, Shared Island, the Department for the Economy, and other EU, government, or private sources. Design and implement funding strategies to support network activities, including the development of new initiatives and the sustainability of the Managing Director role. Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain relationships with government bodies, policymakers, educational institutions, training providers, and private sector leaders to advance the networks objectives. Advocate for the manufacturing sector and the Mega networks mission at regional, national, and international levels. Learning Factory Development Lead the development and implementation of the "Learning Factory" concept to drive innovation and upskill the local workforce. Membership Growth and Retention Develop and execute strategies to retain existing members and grow the Mega networks membership base. Financial Oversight and Budget Management Prepare and manage detailed budgets, including grant applications, financial reporting, and profit and loss analyses. Ensure sound financial stewardship and regular reporting to the board. Operational Collaboration Work closely with the Project Director to align strategic and operational priorities. Community and Economic Impact Champion the networks role in supporting the local manufacturing community and contributing to the economic development of Mid Ulster and surrounding region. Develop initiatives that create measurable social and economic impact within the region. Person Specification - Managing Director Essential Qualifications and Experience Proven experience in strategic leadership within a similar sector or initiative. Deep understanding of Northern Irelands political, economic, and funding landscapes. Strong financial acumen, including the ability to manage budgets, analyse profit and loss accounts, and report financial performance. Demonstrated success in sourcing funding or securing revenue from government, EU, or private sources. Extensive experience collaborating with stakeholders across government, education, and industry. Strong knowledge of the manufacturing community and its needs. Desirable Skills and Experience Track record of completing complex funding or grant application processes. Experience with funding streams such as Peace Plus, Shared Island, or Department for the Economy initiatives.
