Job Purpose
To support the Regional Bioresources Production Planning Manager through planning and scheduling sludge/ cake movements across the region. To develop, implement and maintain the optimum sludge production planning model for the region, considering sludge logistics & recycling costs, Combined Heat and Power (CHP) benefit and treatment costs.
Job Accountabilities
* To be central point of contact for sludge movements across the region, scheduling on a daily and weekly basis to maintain Wastewater Treatment Works & Water Treatment Works compliance in the most cost effective way.
* Building the regional sludge plan, utilising data, telemetry and other tools to provide the best plan for utilisation of sludge across the region, considering sludge logistics & recycling costs, CHP benefit and treatment costs.
* Lead on the development of contingency plans, through liaison with logistics teams and treatment teams across the region.
* Act as the key point of contact for responding to changes to the regional sludge plan
* Act as the key point of contact for responding to operational incidents that require sludge logistics support
* Maintain required sludge data to ensure it is timely, accurate, reliable and complete
* Production of management information reports on sludge logistics, including root cause analysis of data such as contractor spend
* Act as focal lead for key sludge data systems
* Support business improvement activities, and development of other tools and systems to support effective sludge end to end process planning
* Undertake ad-hoc requests as required
Knowledge and Skills
* To be considered for this role you will have a high level understanding of the wastewater treatment process and sludge treatment together with an excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages. You will also have:
* Strong organisation skills
* Excellent communication, skills both verbal and written, with good interpersonal skills to enable effective team-working
* The ability to work under pressure, and independently
* Excellent analytical skills and initiative
* Knowledge of Transport legislation and the surrounding legislation
* Understanding of BAS
* Full driving licence as some travel will be required
