Role Overview
Are you a skilled Plant Engineer looking for a rewarding role in a dynamic manufacturing environment? Our client, a leading company in the manufacturing industry located in the Hertfordshire area, is seeking a dedicated Plant Operator to ensure the efficient day-to-day supply of services to their manufacturing unit.
As a Plant Operator, you will enjoy a role that offers both challenge and variety, with the opportunity to make a significant impact on the operational success of the plant. You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining essential systems and equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of the facility.
This role is on a 24/7 shift rotation. You will be required to have access to your own vehicle, due to the location of the facility.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Your duties as the Plant Operator will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Monitoring the operation of HVAC systems and recording parameters such as velocities, pressures, and temperatures.
2. Inspecting and operating boilers, compressors, refrigerant plants, and other critical equipment, including water systems, and interpreting results.
3. Undertaking minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing steam traps, water filters, and air filters, and responding to alarms as necessary.
4. Supporting problem diagnosis and remedial actions, communicating findings to management, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Role Requirements
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Plant Operator we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Proven industry experience in plant operation and maintenance - specifically you will have experience with boilers, water systems, steam systems and coolers.
2. Demonstrable knowledge of air conditioning plant, water treatment plant and L8 regulations (Legionella control), central heating systems, refrigeration plant and cooling towers.
3. Experience in repair and maintenance of Steam raising plant, good pipefitting and plumbing skills.
4. Awareness of current legislation affecting the carrying out of steam work.
5. A working knowledge and practical experience with GMP/GXP/GEMP, steam plant equipment, and HVAC systems.
