We’re a UK-based, fast-moving SME developing the next generation of high-performance, tracked small Uncrewed Ground Vehicles (sUGVs) for military and dual-use applications. Built for speed, adaptability, and modularity, our robotic platforms are designed to meet the increasing demand for intelligent ground systems in challenging environments.
Fresh off the back of major interest from key players at recent events, we’re entering an accelerated development phase across our MFP-1 and MFP-2 platforms. With tight milestones approaching, we’re looking for talented engineers who can move fast, solve problems creatively, and help us push robotics hardware further.
We’re an engineering-first company — hands-on, agile, and unapologetically practical.
The Role: Robotics-Focused Mechanical Engineering
We’re urgently looking for a Contract Robotics & Mechanical Engineer to join us for a 3–6 month sprint to help us hit key development milestones on our robotic platforms.
This is not a theoretical design role. You’ll be working directly on tracked robotic vehicles — integrating mechanical systems with electronics, autonomy components, and RC control hardware. If you love turning CAD into functioning machines, problem-solving on the fly, and seeing your work tested in the real world, this is the job for you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Mechanical design and integration of tracked robotic platforms
* Developing systems such as powertrains, linkages, suspension, and drivetrain assemblies
* Working with RC control systems and supporting integration with autonomy hardware (Jetson, sensors, GPS, depth cameras, etc.)
* Designing modular assemblies for fast swaps and environmental adaptability (snow, mud, desert)
* Laying out internal architecture — batteries, compute, wiring, sensors, cooling, etc.
* Collaborating with electrical and software engineers for full system integration
* Rapid prototyping and field testing
* Solving real-world robotic design problems at speed
Ideal Experience:
* Strong background in robotics, mechatronics, automotive, or relevant vehicle systems
* Proficiency in mechanical CAD (SolidWorks)
* Experience with RC systems, powertrain design, linkages, and mobility platforms
* Understanding of system-level layout — routing, packaging, accessibility, thermal management
* Practical, hands-on engineer who thrives in fast-paced development cycles
* Able to work independently, take ownership of subsystems, and get things built
Bonus Points For:
* Experience with tracked or ground-based robotics (UGVs, ROVs, etc.)
* Defence or dual-use hardware exposure
* Background in prototyping, field testing, or vehicle fabrication
* Familiarity with autonomy stacks or robotics sensor integration
* 3–6 month contract, immediate start preferred
* Competitive day rate based on experience
* Fast-paced project with potential for follow-on opportunities
