Overview
We are excited to have an opportunity for a Content Developer to join our Content Development team in Wilmslow.
The Content Developer will research, plan, schedule, and produce technical documentation in various electronic formats for a global audience. They will work with minimal supervision as a contributing member of the international Content Development department, which is a multi-disciplinary team that develops content to support Waters’ laboratory instrumentation and related software.
This is a FTC 12 month period.
Responsibilities
Independently write and manage accurate, concise, and well-written technical content in various electronic formats for a global audience.
Gather raw information from SMEs and other project stakeholders, evaluate its accuracy and relevance, and transform it into audience-appropriate content.
Accurately estimate, plan, and communicate with team members and managers on work and project progress to ensure deliverables are met.
Follow Waters content development content, tool, and process guidelines, and understand how adherence to these guidelines affects the efficiency of downstream stakeholders (editors, reviewers, validators, and translators) and the quality of the end product.
Collaborate as a member of cross-functional project teams by attending meetings, interacting with subject matter experts, and establishing and maintaining good working relationships with all Waters employees.
Adapt to new authoring tools and processes.
Identify and escalate potential project risks.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree with prior technical writing experience
2. Structured authoring and/or information modelling, including DITA and XML.
3. Ability to write technical or scientific content.
4. Demonstrated ability to acquire product knowledge and learn new technologies.
