About the Music Department: The Music department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a shared commitment to fostering students' musicality and creativity. We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of musical styles and traditions, from classical to contemporary. We encourage students to develop their musical skills through instrumental lessons, ensemble rehearsals, and performances. About the Role: Teach Music across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching A Level Music depending on experience and interest. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including practical activities, listening exercises, and composition workshops, to bring Music to life for students. Lead and direct school ensembles, such as choirs, bands, and orchestras. Organize and participate in school concerts and performances, providing students with opportunities to showcase their musical talents. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Music curriculum remains relevant and inspiring. Foster a love of Music in students, encouraging them to explore different musical genres and develop their own musical voice. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Music education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Music. Demonstrates a passion for teaching Music and a commitment to student success. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Music. Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
