Job Description:
We are recruiting 5 Qualified and 8 Non-Qualified Trainee Residential Support Workers to join our experienced team in our clients' children's residential care homes in Wigan, Manchester, Stockport, and Rochdale.
We can take on individuals that might not have the relevant qualifications and experience as we have a dedicated training department that can train and support individuals to succeed in this role. We believe that some of the best youth workers are those with life experience who need an opportunity to work within the care sector.
You will be working with young people aged 11 to 18 who have been placed into the care system for various reasons, with an array of disorders, behaviours, and needs. Therefore, we require individuals who have the confidence, understanding, patience, and skill set to successfully work with these young people and make a positive impact on their lives.
This position involves providing guidance, interaction, and support to children and young adults within a residential, educational, or independent living setting, with the intention of creating a safe environment that caters to a young person's intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional needs.
In this role, you will be part of a team supporting the children and young people throughout the day with basic tasks such as meal preparation, social activities, family contacts, education, and shopping.
We are looking for positive role models for the children and young people. Please note we are looking for flexible, reliable, and interactive individuals who want to work within a specialist environment where full training and qualifications will be provided, including Team Teach, Child Protection, St Johns Ambulance First Aid, Understanding Sexualised Behaviour, Working with Self Harm, Understanding Autism and ADHD, and Lone Work training.
Additionally, you will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check or provide a portable DBS and successfully complete one of our assessment programmes prior to any placements.
