Job Details Hours: Core commitment of 125 hours per school year Location: Woodley, Farley Hill and Home-Based About Addington School Addington School is an outstanding special school (part of Ascendancy Partnership Trust) for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. All our pupils’ primary need is a learning difficulty that is either moderate, severe or profound, with up to 50 percent also having Autism. All pupils have an Education and Health Care Plan and we are currently accommodating up to 308 pupils, aged between 3 and 19 years across 2 sites. Based in Woodley and Farley Hill, we are very fortunate to have 2 purpose built environments which make our schools fantastic places for learning and wider curriculum enrichment. Role Overview We are currently seeking a Clerk to Governors to work with the governing body to provide efficient, effective and confidential administrative support in the performance of its statutory obligations. You will advise on constitutional matters, duties and powers and will work within the broad current legislative framework to ensure continuity of governing body business. Requirements With strong organisational skills and excellent record keeping, you will have a flexible approach to work and will have tact and diplomacy with the ability to work confidentially. Ideally, you will have knowledge of education legislation and legal requirements and will have previous experience of committee working, clerking or serving as a school governor. You will be required to commit to the core hours (125 per school year) and will need to be available to be present at meetings at the school premises from time to time. You will be able to undertake much of your work from home and you will need to be flexible to accommodate an irregular work pattern with attendance at meetings after 6.00 pm.
