Description Horizon School – Lowestoft, Suffolk, NR32 4TD MPR SEN 1/Instructor Scale SEN1 per annum Full Time, Job share considered Fixed term in the first instance Reference: 6813 Required as soon as possible The successful candidate will need to be flexible and will be expected to deliver other lessons as a smaller proportion of their timetable. The subject will be dependent on your skills and experience. This is not uncommon in a small Pupil Referral Unit setting and is in part why all teaching staff are paid an SEN point. All teaching staff within the PRU may be expected to take on the role of Form Tutor as outlined within the staff handbook and as reasonable additional duty delegated by the Headteacher. You will: be an excellent teaching practitioner have excellent behaviour management skills be flexible in your approach have sound knowledge of outdoor learning have the ability to build positive relationships with students be friendly and approachable have excellent preparation and organisation skills have a strong work ethic be resilient have high expectations for all. Your responsibilities include: creating and maintaining an engaging, fun and supportive environment, demonstrating flexibility in planning and running sessions in response to the varying/changing needs of students managing support staff effectively, ensuring they embrace the ethos of forest schools being responsible for high standards of education for all. effectively supervise and support students with varying needs whilst delivering sessions structuring sessions planning and implementing the Horizon School curriculum, which engages and ensures all students can make progress in line with expectations.
