Duties and Responsibilities:
As an Audit and Accounts Senior, you will play a key role in delivering timely and accurate audit and accountancy services. Your responsibilities will include:
* Completing assignments for managers and supervisors to the required standard
* Delegating tasks to trainees and providing ongoing feedback and guidance
* Acting as a role model for new trainees
* Maintaining client relationships and ensuring confidentiality
* Supporting a varied portfolio of clients
* Leading audits from planning to completion, liaising with both the team and clients as necessary
* Conducting pre-audit and post-audit meetings with clients
* Mentoring and reviewing the work of junior accountants to ensure high-quality service delivery
* Contributing to the development and training of the team
* Supporting the firm’s growth by retaining and building relationships with clients
* Preparing and submitting statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
* Reviewing junior accountants’ work and providing on-the-job training
* Training clients on relevant software
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this role will be well-organised, with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines effectively, while engaging proactively with clients. You will have:
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an audit and accounts role within an accountancy practice
* Proven experience in leading audits, preparing financial statements (FRS 102), and submitting tax returns
* Strong technical proficiency in audit with excellent attention to detail
* Familiarity with audit and accounting software, such as CCH Accounts Production, CCH Audit Automation, and Outlook
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work alongside senior management
* Experience in managing and mentoring a team
* A proactive, problem-solving attitude with a focus on delivering excellent client service
* Experience with client relationship management and business development
* Part-qualified candidates may be considered depending on experience
