We will consider applications for aspiring ACPs based on their knowledge and skills and appoint at Band 7 level if the right candidate for the role.
Main duties of the job
The advanced clinical practitioner (ACP) provides advanced clinical practice as an integrated member of the multidisciplinary team within their specialty at the University Hospital of North Midlands.
The definition of Advanced Clinical Practice as stated by Health Education England (2017) is "delivered by experienced, registered health and care practitioners. It is a level of practice characterised by a high degree of autonomy and complex decision-making. This is underpinned by a master's level award or equivalent that encompasses the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education, and research, with demonstration of core capabilities and area-specific clinical competence."
The ACP has a trust-wide responsibility to provide clinical excellence through the four pillars of advanced clinical practice. The clinical practice pillar accounts for a minimum of 80% of their contracted hours of work and they practice with a significantly higher level of responsibility and autonomy which is comparable to that of the level of medical staff providing the same level of service.
