We are now seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join our team for a 12-month maternity cover position, working with our Year 6 class. Role Overview: As a Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons and ensuring the effective planning and preparation of lessons for Year 6 students. You will play a key role in supporting the academic progress and well-being of the students, preparing them for the transition to secondary school. You will work closely with a supportive team to deliver an engaging and challenging curriculum that fosters student growth. This is a fixed-term maternity cover position for 12 months, offering an exciting opportunity for a teacher looking to make a positive impact on Year 6 students. Key Responsibilities: Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons for Year 6, ensuring they meet the needs of all students. Ensure thorough lesson preparation, aligning with the national curriculum, and adapting for various learning needs. Foster a positive and stimulating classroom environment that engages students and encourages their academic and personal growth. Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching strategies to support student development. Provide effective pastoral care and support to Year 6 students as they prepare for their transition to secondary school. Collaborate with other staff to maintain consistency in teaching and ensure students receive the best possible education. Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support the well-being and academic progress of Year 6 students. Uphold the highest standards of classroom management, safeguarding, and pastoral care. Support students’ social and emotional development, helping them build resilience and confidence as they approach the end of their primary school journey. Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a recognised teaching degree or equivalent. Experience teaching in Year 6 or working with upper Key Stage 2 students is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of the national curriculum, particularly for Year 6, and experience in preparing students for key assessments such as SATs. A commitment to ensuring every child succeeds and reaches their full potential. Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. A positive, enthusiastic approach to teaching, with the ability to engage and motivate children. A current DBS check or the willingness to undergo one (we can assist in obtaining this if necessary).
