Loughborough High School, an independent day school for girls aged 11 to 18 years, is seeking to appoint a full-time Head of Religious Studies, required from January 2025. The Head of Religious Studies will oversee a vibrant, dynamic department and a curriculum that speaks to every pupil within the school. An outstanding classroom practitioner, the successful candidate will inspire pupils and colleagues alike with their passion for the subject and will champion their department within and beyond the school. A budding strategic thinker, they will contribute actively to heads of department meetings and to wider discussions about the development of the school and, in due course, they are likely to aspire to a senior leadership role. Effective relationships at all levels are key to this role, as is the ability to lead, manage and coach others so that they fulfil their potential, whether as a pupil or as a teacher.
The candidate must possess a genuine commitment to making a positive contribution to the school, be a proud ambassador for the subject and promote the highest standards of subject teaching amongst the department.
