You will work as a People Ops Manager for a historical London University! This is an exciting role, and a great opportunity to develop your own team, as well as the opportunity to support a number of exciting projects, such as implementing a new recruitment system, and transforming processes! Permanent: £51,838 - £59,444 per annum
Annual leave: 33 days + 8 bank holidays (28 days, 3 days over Christmas and 2 days at Easter)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days from home
Your new role
The role will report to the Assistant Director of HR, within an organisation of 1,600, and is responsible for the People Operations Team of 9. The wider HR team is 30+ in size, covering ER, L&D and EDI. You will manage the capability of the team, so the role is very much people management led, but also building capability, improving processes and improving customer services. Ideally, the People Operations team will move from a transactional service, to being able to advise proactively, and push forward expectations! The two main priorities will be to raise customer service, through consistent people management, alongside supporting the Assistant Director of HR in improving processes.
1. Ensuring all recruitment and HR operations run smoothly across the organisation
2. Line management of 2 Shared Services Team Leaders (one for recruitment and one for employee services), and 5 x Recruitment/Shared Service Assistants
3. The Team Leaders will allocate work to the Assistants, but line management will fall under this post holder.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Strong experience of team management/people management.
2. Understanding the complexities of motivating newly formed teams, and the importance of good customer service.
3. Candidates will ideally be from a similar-sized public sector organisation.
