Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust
Band 8a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to work within the North Warwickshire Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Team.
Band 7 /8a preceptorship can be considered for newly qualified psychologists.
30 hours
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our North Warwickshire Community Mental Health Team. The service works with individuals with complex trauma and mental health presentations.
Psychological professions staff are embedded within the Community Mental Health Team and we are therefore looking for someone who values and enjoys multi-disciplinary working and has a high level of understanding of the distinct contribution and added value that psychological approaches can make to the team.
If appointed to the band 7 role this will be a development post with progression to the Band 8a role upon the successful completion of competency requirements. It is expected that this will be achievable within a period of 18 months to two years and will be dependent on the experience of the successful candidate. While these requirements are not met, the role will remain as a Band 7. Therefore we welcome applications from newly qualified clinical or counselling psychologists including those expecting to complete their clinical training this year.
Main duties of the job
This would be an ideal post for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist who in addition to developing their assessment and therapy skills is keen to expand their experience of group-work, psychological consultation, staff training and supervision. The post holder will be based at Rugby and Nuneaton.
The post holder will join a friendly and well-established team of psychologists, psychological therapists, a CBT therapist, an assistant psychologist, and mental health and wellbeing practitioners. The team also includes and is working closely with psychological professionals from the psychosis pathway and also works closely with psychotherapists in the Personality and Complex Trauma Pathway.
The team are dedicated to high quality evidence-based service provision including Trauma-focused CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy, EMDR, Schema Therapy and Psychodynamic and Relational Therapies.
Staff from the North Warwickshire service have close links with other Psychological Therapists within the Trust through peer supervision, service development meetings, special interest groups, CPD events and our Annual Psychological Services Conference.
The service regularly offers core and specialist trainee placements as it has strong links with the Coventry and Warwickshire University Doctorate in Clinical Psychology course and the Wolverhampton University Doctorate in Counselling Psychology Course.
