We are looking for a Phlebotomist for 16 hours per week to work alongside our GPs, Practice Nurses and HCAs to provide a part-time phlebotomy service to our patients in the Hollinwood area.
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will have phlebotomy experience, have a positive and calm manner, be compassionate, patient and understanding and will be able to follow procedures and protocols closely. They will need to be able to work in a busy environment, being helpful and efficient when communicating with other staff and patients.
Your main duties will be:
* carrying out a phlebotomy service at the practice
* working with the clinical system EMIS Web to request labels and check for outstanding blood tests

Job responsibilities
* Work under indirect supervision in accordance with defined practice protocols
* Provide a phlebotomy service to patients registered at the practice
* Be competent in the assessment of patients both physically and emotionally, to ensure safety prior to blood samples being taken
* Be competent in the selection of the appropriate sample bottle or all common laboratory investigations
* Be competent in the use of computer software packages associated with ordering blood samples from different sources
* Ensure samples are correctly labelled for transportation to the laboratory
* Carry out routine and specific procedures required for the day-to-day running of the practice
